I love the fabulous immediacy of your writing Clare. Little children in their randomness are the best of us, and you describe their gorgeous energy and curiosity to a tee (and a tee hee hee)! So glad you had that walk and brought us along with you. Thank you so much! Mary
This brought tears to my eyes. I bumble along forgetting how much both teaching and the lakes have given me until you gave me this punch in the heart. Beautifully written and much needed grounding in these rocky times.
I only just got to read this - and it brought tears to my eyes. For my missed break at Ambleside, but also for the fact that having had no connection with children has left a hole in my life (I think).
I used to meet school councils to discuss climate change. Two children from each year including nursery. The knee nibbles you mention brought that all back…

Love the idea of a poet’s pose! This whole essay took me back to my teaching days- lovely memories. Thank you.
That is beautiful. Sounds a great session with the children. Oh and brings back memories for me of the old DG!

'I love you like light red, like dark purple, like a rainbow.' Beautiful, bravo Year One! 👏 I needed some colour on this grey day, thank you ❤️
What a great way to spend a February day. Love it, xxx
Thank you! What a lovely post to read this morning x
Awesome! ❤️🤗🤗
I wish I’d had a teacher like you. I might not have waited until my sixties before attempting poetry. I know it’s never too late… Bravo Claire.

This is the best blog post I've read in a long time. Thank you.
Beautiful in so many ways, including Cumbria which I agree is the best place on earth
